1

pound ground beef (can substitute 1 large can of cooked, white chicken breast, or bag of peperoni, canadian bacon...)
2 tsp. italian seasoning
1 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 cup olive oil (small container works)
1 can Pizza Dough ( or 1 can crescent rolls, refrigerated section)
1 14oz. jar pizza sauce (or two 8 oz. cans tomato sauce)
1 diced onion, green peppers (optional)
1 8 oz. can mushrooms (drained)
1 can of black olives (optional)
1 8 oz. pkg shredded cheddar cheese
1 8 oz. pkg shredded mozzarella cheese
instructions:
Place dutch oven on all 20-26 briquettes to start heating oven.  Once oven is hot, add a little olive oil.  Once the oil is hot, add ground beef, italian seasoning, garlic salt, salt and pepper if you like; mix together and cook in oven till brown.   Remove cooked beef from oven and wipe down with a paper towel.  If using the canned chicken, heat till mixture is very hot.  If precooked meat, you may skip this step and just add a little oil to bottom of the oven to prevent sticking.

Pour remainder of olive oil into Dutch oven and spread evenly over bottom of oven. Open the can of crescent rolls or Pizza Dough and line the bottom of the oven with a layer of flattened rolls, overlapping and pressed together.  Be sure to have the dough about 1/2 to 1 inch up the sides.  Pour pizza sauce or both cans of tomato sauce evenly over dough.   Sprinkle evenly with seasoned ground beef, onion, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, (whatever) and top with both packages of cheddar and mozarella cheeses.

Cover and bake using ONLY 6 - 8 briquettes on the bottom and 18-25 briquettes evenly spaced on top for 20-30 minutes until crust is browned on edges and cheese is bubbly.

Serves: 6-8
